My friends and dear supporters,
I did this last year on Instagram, but Instagram is boring, so the primary post will live here, on Substack. I’ve already said more than enough about this incredible and blessed year, with all its peaks and valleys, so here it is in photos. Many are from Creatio trips, but not all. Some are repeats you all have seen before, but I leaned towards new ones yet unshared. Total, I shot about half as much as I did in 2023, but there are still some good ones in the archive.
I won’t call them the most iconic “moments” of the year. I’ve never been one for features and I’m much happier participating in the best moments instead of photographing them, Rather, I would call them bits of beauty from every movement of the year. I think my work as a photographer has always been one of contemplation, not action, and that’s become undeniably clear while shooting as a missionary. So, whatever these images may have come out to be, here’s to more beautiful photos in 2025, whenever they come.
And now, without further ado:
“The missionary must be a "contemplative in action." - Pope St John Paul II
“The greatest things are accomplished in silence—not in the clamor and display of superficial eventfulness, but in the deep clarity of inner vision; in the almost imperceptible start of decision, in quiet overcoming and hidden sacrifice.” - Robert Cardinal Sarah, The Power of Silence
Until next year, friends.
in statu viae,
Ryan
