I wrote this in April of last year while walking home through the park. Struck by the abundance of spring color, I felt verse to be the best response.
The King of Greens and Golds
Is it forever spring in the world to come? I hope so. With this golden light shining on hosts of new leaves, new tress All arrayed in the greens and golds of a king of The King Of the One of whom this beauty is a mere shadow In His country, is it perpetually spring? I can think of nothing more fitting For the land of the Resurrection Than for life to be always bursting forth so beautifully Which such excess that it is as if the Earth won't know where to put all the green all the gold Is that not fitting, that there might be spring without measure? The light is fading now as each day does for we are not in that land quite yet but wait I will, with hope and trust that I might yet meet Him there The risen One the Son and the sun the King of greens and golds
